Yesterday Brooke & I were driving home from pre-school and she said, "Momma, there is only 18 more days until Christmas". I felt a wave of anxiety rush through my body as I realized that time is getting away from me quickly. I need to go shopping. Seems a bit funny that I have an online store, yet cannot find the time to shop online or in a store for my family. So this week, I am planning on making that happen!! Yippee. Stay tuned...for my progress.
We finally got a great big dose of rain yesterday. In southern California, it really doesn't rain much, so it was a giant welcome to receive such a blessing!! However, all the people around here are out of their minds not knowing how to handle the super cold weather of overnight temps of 40 degrees. Yes, I know, 40 degrees, that's summer in the mid-west during December. I have a chuckle every time I hear the drama from the TV news weather forecasters. I grew up in the southern Indiana & moved here when I was 24, nearly 15 years ago. So cold weather is not a foreign concept to me. I have actually driven on snow before. Ha Ha. I have to poke a little fun at the local people, but it's all in good spirits.
I ended my evening with my family taking a well deserved break by watching Santa Claus is Coming to Town, drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows & eating popcorn. A great way to end a hectic day & relax with my favorite people!! Cheers!

Happy Holidays
I just starting to think about holiday shopping for my own family. I have been so preoccupied with my own shop on etsy, that time is getting away from me quickly. Looks like it will be an online shopping experience this year.
I am going to put on some Christmas music, drag the decorations down from the garage attic, grab my family, & some hot cocoa & get decorating this week. My daughter is 4 years old & can hardly wait until Christmas. She is so excited, & it reminds of me of how thrilling the aniticipation of the holidays were for me as a child--well, I guess they still are.
I am one who can not wait to give the presents--I always break down & have my husband open his gifts early on Christmas Eve. I guess I am still a little kid at heart.
Last night around 6 pm, I realized I had not picked up my husband's dry cleaning..YIKES...I hurried through the house & took Brooke, my daughter, by the hand & scooted out the door in a flash. As we were driving down the street, Brooke said, "Mamma, look at all the lights in the trees and on the houses". She was nearly jumping out of her car seat from all of the beautiful lights, perfectly placed in trees, doorways, rooftops & yards. It really makes me want to race out & decorate my house with lights. I have a roof that scares off most roofers, due to the steep pitch of the roof. So, I don't get to do much decorating with lights, except on the front door and walkway. It still looks great, but I always feel for those crazy husbands who drag out the ladders & make their way onto the super scary, slick rooftops.
Happy Holidays & be sure to check out blogs from two friends of mine. They are having holiday giveaways, which you definitely don't want to miss out on.
